Book winter in the right order

Choose ski dates and mountain access
Whistler Blackcomb says lift tickets are limited and encourages advance purchase. If skiing is the purpose of the trip, secure the mountain days before building restaurant and sightseeing plans around them.

Choose the right base
Village, Upper Village and Creekside solve different access problems. Prioritize the base that reduces morning friction for your group.

Add lessons and equipment
Reserve lessons early on peak dates. Whistler Blackcomb recommends booking rental gear in advance and says at least 48 hours gives better selection and overall experience.

Choose how you will reach Whistler
Scheduled coach and private transfer can remove winter-driving and parking from the trip. If you drive, verify current tire requirements, weather and parking rules.

Protect a flexible block
Weather, visibility and fatigue can change the value of a mountain day. Keep one lower-intensity option rather than filling every hour.

- Check DriveBC road conditions and incidents.
- Confirm the vehicle meets posted winter tire requirements.
- Check weather at both valley and mountain elevations.
- Keep warm layers, water and enough fuel/charge for delays.
Before leaving Whistler
- Recheck Highway 99 rather than relying on the morning forecast.
- Allow margin for snow clearing, weekend traffic and incidents.
- Confirm parking rules if the car has been left in a day lot or parkade.
- Do not schedule the airport connection as if winter road time is guaranteed.
