Rain and low cloud are different problems
Light rain does not necessarily ruin a forest walk or waterfall stop. In fact, waterfalls can be more dramatic. Low cloud is more important for view-dependent attractions because it can erase the reason you paid to go up.
Check webcams and current conditions on the morning of a gondola or mountain-sightseeing day. Move the expensive view-dependent activity before you move the whole itinerary.

Shift toward structured indoor time
Use museums, Britannia Mine, galleries, cultural centres, food stops and accommodation amenities. Keep only short outdoor transitions.
Move expensive viewpoints
This is the condition that most affects gondolas and alpine sightseeing. Check webcams before committing tickets and several hours.
Let safety control the itinerary
Highway incidents, wind, snow or severe weather are not sightseeing problems. Check DriveBC and operator advisories and change the travel day if needed.

Packing
Rain is easier when your clothing system is simple
A waterproof shell is more useful than a heavy umbrella on windy coastal days. Waterproof or quick-drying footwear matters because a wet shoe can undermine the rest of a travel day. Keep one dry layer in the vehicle or day bag rather than wearing every warm item at once.
In summer, do not assume rain means cold. The city may be mild while the gondola summit or Whistler alpine is much cooler. Pack for the highest and most exposed part of the day.
When should you actually reschedule?
Should I cancel the Sea to Sky Gondola because it is raining?
Not solely because of rain. The bigger question is visibility and operating conditions. Check the webcam and current status close to departure.
Are waterfalls still worth seeing?
Often yes. Rain and snowmelt can make them more dramatic, but paths and boardwalks can become slippery. Follow park advisories and stay on designated routes.
What if Highway 99 has an advisory?
Use DriveBC as the authority for current conditions, incidents and closures. Do not force a sightseeing schedule through a safety issue.
